Get ready for the urban future: Space for all, with or without pandemic

RiConnect Lead Expert Roland Krebs reflects on the impact of the pandemic in mobility and the use of public space. The aftermath of COVID-related lockdowns has accelerated changes in the urban realm: offering temporary public spaces and advancing towards innovative models. Through examples in Vienna, the article shows how change is possible to offer spaces for all. 

Bistrita’s first Small Scale Action

NextAgri "groundshaking effect" and city responses

NextAgri’s project is a good example of the ground shaking magnitude caused by the UIA OpenAgri project. The 3 transfer partners are medium-sized cities from different climate type ecoregion and with different approaches to land use for agriculture. The development level of innovation and experimentation varies across the different cities. The Transferability Study reveals that NextAgri is a unique opportunity to explore new functionalities, as well as to review and improve their current functionalities considering different needs and contexts.

This issue is all about biodiversity in cities which depends on pollinators as much as on responsible residents. This theme is in the hands of Osijek (Croatia) and was discussed in depth on our partnership thematic meeting in November 2021.
